Prince George's to register all common ownership communities

By Staff

Feb. 8, 2010, 1 a.m. - Beginning on Feb. 1, 2010, the Prince George’s County Office of Community Relations will begin registering all common ownership communities located in the county.

County law, CB-15-2007, requires condominiums, homeowners’ associations and cooperatives to register with Prince George’s County each year.  Registration continues through March 2, 2010.

If the association does not receive a registration form in the mail, the form will be available on the county website at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov under Office of Community Relations, Common Ownership Communities.  Associations may also call 301-952-4729 to request that a form be mailed.

In addition to requiring associations to register, CB-15-2007 established the Common Ownership Communities Program in the Office of Community Relations to assist governing bodies, owners and residents of homeowners’ association, residential condominiums and co-ops with education and training services in matters relating to common ownership communities.

Associations may call the Office of Community Relations, Common Ownership Communities Program for more information on 301-952-4729.
